Adriana Kertzer — Principal

Adriana Kertzer is the founder and principal at Plant Medicine Law Group, a law firm specialized in psychedelic infrastructure and dedicated to novel therapies in the mental health and wellness industries. She is on the Board of Directors of Doctors for Drug Policy Reform and the Board of Advisors of the Shine Collective, a nonprofit that provides support, resources, and education to survivors of abuse within psychedelic communities.

Adriana began her legal career as a corporate associate on Simpson Thacher & Bartlett’s Latin American capital markets team. Prior to launching PMLG in 2020 with two other immigrant women lawyers, she ran Chestnut Hill Advisory Partners (a consultancy leading or managing design, real estate and cultural projects), worked for the Obama Administration as the Senior Advisor to the Senior Deputy Chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts. Prior to that, was a Curatorial Assistant at the Museum of Arts and Design, and Acting Assistant General Counsel at the Guggenheim Museum, among other things.

Adriana is the author of Favelization: The Imaginary Brazil in Contemporary Film, Fashion and Design, a book originally published by the Cooper Hewitt, National Design Museum (Smithsonian Institution).

Adriana was born and raised in São Paulo and resides in New York City. She has a J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center, a B.A. from Brown University in Judaic Studies and International Relations, and an M.A. from Parsons The New School for Design. She is passionate about Jewish psychedelic culture and founded JewWhoTokes, an Instagram account that explores relationships with cannabis and psychedelics in the Jewish community. LinkedIn

Kaci Hohmann is an Oregon-based attorney specialized in business law for cannabis and psychedelics. She serves as Chair of the Excutive Commitee of the Oregon State Bar’s Cannabis and Psychedelics Law Section and was a drafting team member for Oregon Measure 109, which legalized psilocybin services in Oregon.
